Mim Dickens the UK co-ordinator was excellent in setting everything up, there was no time to fill in forms to try and recoup expenses but still it may be possible. Artur was an excellent minder in Riga and the staff at the clinic, especially Surgeon Mr Slezins were first class. The facilities were excellent. My only minor grouse was that nurses didn’t seem to stick to a timetable like they do in the UK e.g. breakfast 8am etc and some had poor English. The addition of an available litter picker and a long shoe horn (very cheap) would help microdiscectomy patients post-op. Overall an excellent service and one I would recommend to anyone with a similar problem anywhere in Europe or beyond! Another small point-folk from UK need to remember to take an adaptor plug for electrical appliances e.g. laptop. Hotel was first class, right in centre of old town.
