Firstly I’d like to say I was diagnosed with c6-c7 disc prolapse and osteophytes (bone spurs) this was diagnosed in Ireland where I paid privately for an MRI scan. The pain that I had from my left 3 fingers, arm, elbow, shoulder would in recent weeks prove unbearable and no amount of pain medication would enable me to work. This sensation of numbness and pins and needles in the fingers had gone on for almost 5 years before it reached its peak after a recent holiday. Knowing the cost of the self pay option in Ireland was around €13500 and private healthcare providers would not cover a pre existing condition! And with public waiting lists around a year. My husband done the research online and found Neuro Spine Riga in Latvia. I was a little sceptical but he made contact for me through Mim Dickens the UK and Ireland coordinator and I’m so glad he did. The whole process from start to finish is just excellent. Mim walked us through every step of the way with our consultation an forwarding our MRI picture’s and radiology result to the surgeon and team in Riga. They agreed surgery was the correct option and we were given dates to chose which week we would like to go. We flew from Ireland to London Luton and overnight in a hotel then onto Riga as flights are much cheaper from Luton or Stanstead and are easily reached from all airports in Ireland. If you want to fly direct from Dublin then that’s the only choice which can be costly. We had as promised transport arranged from the airport in Riga to a lovely 4 star hotel in the old town which is beautiful. Contact was then made within a couple of hours of checking in from Artur our coordinator in Riga who explained the next steps. Without fault we were collected from the hotel next day and taken to the clinic and it was great my husband could stay in the clinic with me in our own room. To cut a long story down we cannot thank enough Mim, Artur, Janis our surgeon the Drs nurses and staff for looking after us in this whole process who took every step possible to make sure we were looked after and returned safely to the airport. So if you’re considering ACDF SURGERY or any other surgery for that matter contact Mim Dickens. Big thank you to all at Aiwa Clinic and see you soon for some cosmetics.
